Zone 5 Delivers: Thank You, Neighbors

Unofficial results as of Nov. 4, 2026, from the Chester County election night report.

Thank you, Zone 5. Nearly 16,000 of our neighbors in Caln, Downingtown, East Caln and West Brandywine cast a vote for Governor, and about seven in ten chose Democrats. Every lit-drop, every knock on a door, every phone call, every sign, every conversation with a neighbor, and every shift at the polls helped make that happen.

How Zone 5 compared

Zone 5 voted 69.8% for Governor Josh Shapiro, ahead of Chester County as a whole (67.6%) and well ahead of Pennsylvania (60.1%). Chrissy Houlahan carried our precincts with 67.9% for Congress, and Katie Muth earned 65.2% in the Caln and West Brandywine precincts of the 44th Senate District, a little better than her 64% across the whole district.

Our state House candidates did even better at home. Dan Williams took 73.0% in the Caln precincts of the 74th District, compared with 64% across the district. Kristine Howard took 72.3% in East Caln, compared with 67% across the 167th.

Our strongest precincts

East Caln 2 led the way at 78.7%, followed by Caln 2 (77.1%), West Downingtown North (76.2%) and East Downingtown East (75.8%). Caln, our largest community, cast 39% of all Zone 5 votes and delivered a net margin of nearly 3,000 votes.

Where we grow next

West Brandywine voted for Democrats too, but by a smaller margin, and West Brandywine West was close to even. That is where we see the biggest chance to talk with more neighbors, and we still have an open Committee Person seat there. If you live in West Brandywine and want to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
