By Kate Holzle, East Caln 1 Committeeperson
Election Day is November 3rd, and East Caln 1 Committeeperson Kate Holzle has put together a full toolkit of key dates, deadlines, and ways to help. Highlights: Vote-by-Mail requests are due October 27th, voter registration closes October 9th, and Kate is looking for volunteers to serve as Poll Watchers and Poll Greeters on Election Day.
๐๏ธ Key Dates & Deadlines
- Election Day: November 3rd, 7:00 AM โ 8:00 PM
- Vote by Mail: October 27th is the last day to request a ballot. Return it by mail or in an official Drop Box โ never bring it to the polls in person (it must be destroyed and replaced with a Provisional Ballot, which creates extra work for everyone).
- Voter Registration: October 9th is the deadline to register or change your party affiliation.
- Turning 18 by Election Day? You can register now. Ask your high school if it has a Civics Club โ and if not, consider starting one.
- Drop Boxes: Satellite offices at Hankin Library, Voter Services (Westtown), and Oxford Library, plus a staffed box at Downingtown Library on Wallace Ave.
๐ Volunteers Needed: Poll Watchers & Poll Greeters
With so much focus on election security, we’re asking for coverage at East Caln 1 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. You can sign up for any amount of time, and you don’t have to live in the East Caln 1 precinct to help. Poll Watchers observe inside the voting building and need a short Zoom training plus a certificate โ Kate can arrange this with advance notice. Poll Greeters stay outside, answer questions, and hand out Sample Ballots showing our endorsed candidates.
A note from Kate: “I’ve served as East Caln 1 Committeeperson since 2008, and I could really use some help this cycle โ an assistant committeeperson, a few hours at the polls, a ride for an elderly neighbor, or just forwarding this update to friends in East Caln. You can be 18 or 100 โ there’s something easy you can do to help. Call or text me at 484-798-8424, or email kate.holzle@gmail.com.”
